Registration is just a few people short of hitting the first 100 participants. When we  reach that number we will draw for a 2 night stay at the Summerland Waterfront Resort and Spa.  Thanks to everyone that has taken the time to sign up so far and if you haven’t had a chance to get your name in as yet we hope you will soon.  This year our goal is to have 300 participants so a big thanks to all of you that have helped to get us  almost 1/3 of the way to the goal.   We also have another two  teams signed up :

  • M.O.M.S – aka Mind over Mountains! Now that is positive thinking
  • Wandering Soles – looking foward to the Giants Head Grind adding to their wandering!

Thanks to so many people that have already registered for the Giants Head Grind happening in Summerland, BC on May 17th, 2014. We have almost 100 individual registrations to date including 7 teams.

  • Gartrell Grinders – excellent alliteration – they have a road and a grind
  • Team Eden – not only will they challenge the Giant but they will sell you a home

This race is for a very important cause and we are note taking Colon Cancer laying down…..make no mistake we will take that mountain with a vengeance, raise a lot of money and have a most memorable day.

Welcome Brodo, True Grains and Nesters…this must be the food day!

I am sitting in the Vancouver Airport and Rianna is playing ….lots of emotions and so many memories…can’t believe we are planning a race …wonderful…the support…amazing…and the reason…. shocking …….

Brodo KitchenIn the midst of all this emotion we are so pleased and excited to have the remarkable and always smiling Paul Cecconi, Chef and owner of Brodo Kitchen and Catering in Penticton, confirmed as our Race Chef! …his motto is Simply Fresh Food!! True Grains…and about those wonderful people at True Grains in Summerland. There couldn’t be a nicer group of bakers than those at True Grains where not only their breads are organic but their spirits are too. We are more than fortunate to have them in Summerland where I have seen them open there doors after closing time to provide product to a customer in need. Registration now open…..

March is Colon Cancer Awareness month in Canada, something we had no idea even existed  just a few short years ago but it is a  fitting time to open up registration for the first annual Giants Head Grind – Christopher Walker Memorial Race taking place May 17th, 2014 in Summerland, British Columbia.

Hannah McDonald, Chris’s  fiancee kicked off  registration today as our 1st participant. Registration is now open and we hope you can join us  as a participant a team  or to donate to the cause!   ….go to giantsheadgrind.com/get involved/.
